Managing Umpires Directory

Build your list of umpires for selection requests.

Beginner3 min readUpdated 2024-12-06

When a case goes to umpire, you typically pull from a short list of umpires you trust. Their fee structure, geographic coverage, and specialty (residential vs commercial, wind vs flood) all factor into who you suggest. Trying to recall all that from memory while the opposing appraiser waits for your selection list is friction you do not need.

Your umpire directory is private to your account, so the list reflects your own preferences and history. Save each umpire with their rate info and CV once, and selection requests become a matter of picking three names from a list instead of starting from scratch each time.

This is most valuable for appraisers who regularly end up at umpire. Building the directory early means by the time you have your fifth or sixth umpire case, the workflow is already smooth and the right umpire is one click away.
