Panel Declaration Auto-Generation

Automatically generate a Panel Declaration when an umpire is selected.

Beginner3 min readUpdated 2024-12-06

The minute an umpire is agreed upon, the next thing that has to happen is a panel declaration getting drafted and sent for signature. There is no decision to make and no information that is not already on the file. It is pure paperwork, but if you forget to do it the case sits and waits.

When you have ten active cases, remembering to manually draft a panel declaration for each one as soon as the umpire is locked in is a recipe for dropped balls. Worse, it is the kind of administrative task that should never have been on your plate in the first place. You should be working on estimates, not chasing your own paperwork.

Auto-generation removes the step entirely. The moment the umpire is selected on the appraisal, the panel declaration gets drafted from your template, populated with all three party names, and queued for signature if you want. You touched the case once (to confirm the umpire), and the next thing you see is "panel declaration sent" in your activity feed.
