Deleting an Appraisal

How to delete an appraisal and what happens to related data.

Beginner2 min readUpdated 2024-12-06

Sometimes a case gets entered twice. Sometimes you spin up a test appraisal while you are learning the system. Sometimes a carrier yanks an assignment back before you do any work. In those situations you want the record gone so it does not clutter your active list or pollute your stats.

Deletion is permanent and it removes everything attached to the case, so it is not the right tool for closed work. For real cases that wrapped up, mark them Complete instead. Deletion is for cases that should never have existed in your data in the first place.

Only owners can delete. Staff cannot. That guardrail exists because a wrong-click here erases time entries, documents, and history with no undo.

Permanent Action

Deleting an appraisal is permanent and cannot be undone. All associated data will be removed.

Who Can Delete

Only account owners can delete appraisals. Staff members do not have delete permissions.

What Gets Deleted

  • The appraisal record itself
  • All time entries and expenses
  • All award items
  • Generated documents and attachments
  • Notes and activity history

How to Delete

1

Open the appraisal

Navigate to the appraisal detail page.

2

Click the menu

Find the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.

3

Select Delete

Confirm when prompted.

Alternative: Mark Complete

Instead of deleting, consider marking cancelled or test cases as Complete. This preserves your records while keeping your active list clean.
