Generating Award Letter PDFs

Create professional PDF award letters from your templates.

Beginner3 min readUpdated 2024-12-06

The award letter is the deliverable. Everything before this, the negotiation, the inspection, the line item math, builds toward a clean, signable PDF that the carrier can pay against. It needs to look professional, carry your branding, and pull in every party name, every dollar figure, and every signature block correctly the first time.

If you build the PDF by hand in Word, every award becomes a copy-paste exercise. You start from last week's award, scrub it for old client info, retype the new totals, and pray you caught every reference to the prior insured's name. Mistakes here are embarrassing and they slow payment. The whole point of templating is to make the typing happen exactly once, in the structured fields, and let the document assemble itself.

Generating from a template means the PDF is always current with whatever you entered on the award items tab. Change a number, regenerate, send. No find-and-replace, no manual recalculation, no version drift between what is in the system and what is in the document.
