Calendar Map View
Visualize your inspections geographically with the map view on the calendar page.
Calendar grids are great for time but terrible for geography. A Thursday with three inspections on your calendar tells you nothing about whether those properties are 5 miles apart or 95. If you book them blind, you can easily end up criss-crossing a metro area when a tiny bit of geographic awareness would have let you cluster them and save an hour of drive time.
The map view shows every inspection as a pin so you can see at a glance where your work is concentrated. Color tells you which side you are on, fill tells you whether it is scheduled yet, and the unscheduled filter is where the real magic happens: pull up all your open files, see which ones cluster near each other, and schedule them on the same day.
This is for any appraiser who covers more than a tight local area. If you regularly drive an hour or more to inspections, the map view will probably save you a full day per month in windshield time.
The calendar page offers a Map view in addition to the standard calendar grid. The map shows all your inspections as pins on a geographic map, giving you a visual overview of where your work is located.
Switching to Map View
At the top of the calendar page, use the view toggle to switch between Calendar and Map. Your selection is remembered between sessions.
Pin Colors
Pins are color-coded by the representing party on each appraisal:
| Color | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Blue | You are the carrier appraiser on this case |
| Green | You are the insured appraiser on this case |
| Amber | Umpire inspection |
Solid vs. Outlined Pins
The pin style indicates whether the inspection is scheduled:
- Solid pin — inspection date is confirmed and scheduled
- Outlined pin — appraisal needs an inspection but no date is set yet
Filtering Pins
Use the filter dropdown in the top-right corner of the map to control which pins are shown:
- Scheduled — show only inspections with a confirmed date
- Unscheduled — show only appraisals that still need scheduling
- All — show both scheduled and unscheduled
Hover Tooltips
Hover over any pin to see a tooltip with key details about that appraisal: insured name, claim number, inspection date (if scheduled), and property address.
Navigating to an Appraisal
Click any pin to open the appraisal detail page for that case directly.
Map Legend
A legend in the bottom corner of the map explains what each pin color and style represents. This is useful for a quick reference while reviewing the map.
